Our work focuses on the genetic and epigenetic abnormalities that are present in endocrine tumors. Understanding these changes that occur in endocrine cancer could help in developing strategies for early detection of endocrine cancers, and targets for therapy. Current studies include: Identification and clinical validation of thyroid cancer biomarkers that could lead to early detection and better prognostication, Molecular classification and mechanism of dysregulated genes in malignant adrenal tumors, Novel therapeutic approaches to treat thyroid or adrenal cancer subpopulations that do not respond well to current conventional therapeutic strategies Molecular basis of gender and ethnic disparity in thyroid cancer incidence.
